Trial Practice and Child Dependency Cases

The Best Practice Teams of Roanoke City & Salem/Roanoke County are presenting a workshop on February 18, 2019 (President's Day) at The Jefferson Center entitled "Trial Practice and Child Dependency Cases."  The program features Keynote speakers Dr. Donald Kees, of Carilion Clinic, who will speak on forensic aspects of child abuse determinations, Prof. Joan Shaughnessy, of W&L School of Law, who will lead a group discussion on services and strategies for your parent clients in child dependency cases, and the Hon. R. Louis Harrison, presiding judge of 24th Judicial District of Virginia's Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, who will speak on Guardian ad Litem issues.  Other topics discussed will include evidentiary matters, custody issues, school involvement, and negotiation techniques.  CLE, CAC, and GAL have been approved for this program. Registration is CLOSED.
